Melania, class 1b, Poland


A flood is an overflow of water that submerges land. It destroys bridges, buildings, cars, roadways, canals and sewer systems. It can also lead to epidemics and diseases.Floods are caused by:

* a unexpected event (dam breakage)

* result of another hazard (earthquake or volcanic eruption)

* sea storms

* heavy rains from monsoons

* hurricanes

* foreign winds
*warm rain affecting snow
